COVID INFORMATION & PROTOCOLS

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our customers are aware that there have been global shortages of fitness equipment. We continue to do our best to provide lead times on expected arrival dates of much awaited products and clarify availability.

We have also been making strides towards the enhancement of your online shopping experience with us. As you may have noticed, we have a new website! We hope it provides a more informed shopping experience in terms of product descriptions, availability, and purchase related procedures for curb-side pickups and deliveries. We appreciate any feedback on how we can serve you better! 

In regards to the Provincial reopening plan, we are following all Government procedures and enforcing additional safety measures to ensure all our customers can ‘Get Fit with AKFIT’ in the safest manner possible. 

Thanks to our Distribution Team, we’re happy that many of you have been able safely secure product during the lockdown through curb-side pickup and curb-side delivery. By calling our store and doing your research on products with a Sales Specialist, we strive to align your wants and needs with products that you’ve been unable to ‘Try-Before-You-Buy’. Now that we are reopening, we are limiting the in-store traffic to customers who have been unable to do so. 

By limiting in-store purchases to select categories, we’re able to maintain a manageable level of foot traffic to keep our staff, and customers safe, while keeping all products cleaned and sanitized accordingly.

• Open by Appointment for Cardio & Strength Units/Packages.
• 30 Minute Time Slots, Call in advance to book.
• Limit 1 shopper/couple per time slot (15% Capacity w/Screening).
• Please shop small goods & accessories online.
• In-Home Services to resume within local health region with limited priority.
- Includes In-Home Delivery, Install, & Service for minority groups
(Seniors, People with limited abilities, Facilities, Homes with 1-
person or less).
• Please continue to shop small goods & accessories online.

STAGE 2 - DATE TBD
• Open by drop-in for Cardio & Strength Units/Packages.
• Limit 2 shoppers/couples at a time (25% Capacity w/Screening).
• In-Home service to resume to normal operations (some restrictions).
• Please continue to shop small goods & accessories online.

STAGE 3 - DATE TBD
• Open for cash & carry on all items.
• Capacity limits/ further restrictions to be determined.
• In-Home service continued to operate.

DELIVERY, INSTALLATION, & SERVICE

In home delivery and installation service will NOT be available during lockdowns. We will continue to provide curb-side delivery.

If you require service on your equipment, we request your patience and kindness towards our service team. We understand everyone needs to be active during this pandemic, especially during the winter months in Northern Ontario. Rude and impolite behaviour will not fix your equipment faster. 

Please work with our service technicians remotely to service your items and consider installation assistance from your immediate circle if timelines do not meet your needs or if you are located remotely.  

AKFIT COVID-19 PROTOCOL

Due to the lockdown and restrictions of “try-before-you-buy” shopping, we encourage all customers to call in and talk with one of our Sales Specialists for assistance in choosing the right product and aligning your wants and needs with available stock and items available for pre-order. 

We encourage pre-orders to ensure the acquisition of the limited stock we receive of highly demanded items. 

Due to high demand for fitness equipment, please allow up to 2-3 business days for phone-in, and online purchases to be processed and scheduled for curb-side pickup or curb-side delivery, and 3-5 days for shipping requests. After your order has been processed, you will be called by an AKFIT representative, or notified, to schedule a curb-side pickup time or curb-side delivery. 

FOR CURB-SIDE PICKUPS, TO MAINTAIN A SAFE DISTANCE BETWEEN STAFF AND CUSTOMERS, WE ARE UNABLE TO ASSIST IN THE LOADING AND FASTENING OF ANY PRODUCTS INTO CARS/TRUCKS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. PRODUCTS WILL BE PLACED OUTSIDE AT THE TIME OF PICKUP FOR CUSTOMERS TO LOAD. PLEASE BRING ASSISTANCE WITH YOU IF REQUIRED OR CALL IN TO REQUEST CURB-SIDE DELIVERY. 

We are doing our best to deal with the high influx of online and phone-in purchase inquiries and appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times. 

Please be advised, COVID-19 has caused adverse effects on all global supply chains, causing disruptions and delays due to:  

  • Strict sanitary control measures at factories, ports, and transit stations. 
  • A shortage of sea freighted shipping containers allocated to fitness equipment suppliers due to the increased demand. Along with a shortage of raw materials for manufacturing. 
  • Railway delays are occurring after a sea freighted container arrives to port in Canada as it must pass through extensive inspection procedures, this causes additional backups and delays. 
  • We are providing updates on expected deliveries and delays as we receive notice from transporters and partner suppliers when possible. 

We ask that you continue to show the patience that you have demonstrated so far.
